As a member of the Parks & Recreation Committee, I’ve worked to make our parks places where families want to gather and to build traditions that strengthen our community. Over the past few years, we’ve launched events and delivered meaningful upgrades that will continue well into the future.
Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony – Bringing the community together each holiday season.
Dog’s Day Out – A new annual event celebrating families and their pets.
Fireworks Show for July 3, 2026 – Approved at Newburg Park to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
Halloween Parade & Trick-or-Treat – Partnering with Colonial Regional Police and Hecktown Volunteer Fire Company to provide a fun and safe celebration for families.
Nazareth Football, Cheerleaders, & Band Bonfire – Supporting school spirit and community pride with this exciting fall tradition.
Township Easter Egg Hunt – Revived a beloved spring tradition.
Summer Cool Off Days at Newburg Park – Hosted with the Fire Company, helping families beat the summer heat.
Summer Park Programs – Revived to keep kids and families active, social, and connected.
Support of Local Sports Programs – Continued investment in field access and the snack stand to help teams succeed and fundraise.
Newburg Park – Transformed into a true community hub with a splash pad, new playground, walking trail, dog park, gazebo, two upgraded sports fields, plus new pickleball courts and bathrooms.
Surrey Glen Park – Added a walking trail, playground, and gazebo, creating a safe and welcoming space close to home. We also used Open Space funds to purchase land and, with the help of grant funding, built a connector trail to link the park to the adjacent neighborhood.
Hahn’s Meadow Park Expansion – Used Open Space funds to preserve 15.5 acres, doubling the size of the park for passive recreation and future trails.
Upgraded drainage, lighting, benches, and signage to make parks safer, more accessible, and family-friendly.
Remodeled the snack stand to better support our local sports programs and fundraising efforts.
These efforts are about more than just playgrounds and events, they’re about community. By investing in our parks, supporting youth programs, and creating traditions that unite us, we’ve made Lower Nazareth a place where families thrive, neighbors connect, and memories are made.
